This post is part of the Meet the ETCL Team series, which introduces the wonderful people who work in the lab and who have worked with us in the past.
Veronika joined the lab in May 2025 as a Mitacs Globalink Research Intern from Kherson, Ukraine. She will spend three months in the lab contributing to the development of digital tools and methodologies that enhance the accessibility and impact of humanities research. Her role includes assisting with data analysis, supporting collaborative academic initiatives, and participating in interdisciplinary research discussions.
Veronika is currently completing her bachelor’s degree in English and German Philology. She is expected to graduate in 2026 and plans to continue her academic journey by enrolling in a master’s program, where she hopes to deepen her expertise in linguistics, cultural studies, and digital communication.
She has a strong interest in the intersection of technology and the humanities, particularly in how digital innovations can be used to preserve cultural heritage and promote cross-cultural understanding. Her academic interests also include second language acquisition, sociolinguistics, and multilingual education.
Outside of her academic commitments, Veronika is passionate about personal development and staying active. She enjoys traveling, listening to music, and discovering new places—both locally and abroad. These experiences have strengthened her curiosity about the world and her appreciation for cultural diversity. She believes that international programs like Mitacs offer invaluable opportunities for both professional and personal growth, and she is excited to be part of a global network of researchers.
