It may be small news that our little research lab has been ‘put on the map‘ so to speak; but the fact that Google has now opened up Google Maps for user generated content is definitely no small thing. Now anyone – regardless whether you have a profile setup or not – can start entering in their own location points, lines, and shape masks and save it publicly for search. The results are quick too – the minute we entered our own location point (complete with a link to our website and further directions) we were in the top map result for “ETCL”. The option to appear unlisted also remains, just make sure to click that radio button before saving! Interested? Give it your own shot!
