The Electronic Textual Cultures Lab (ETCL) is looking for a full-time (35 hours per week) Lab Coordinator.

This position will place you at the heart of the ETCL’s operations and initiatives. The Coordinator provides a consistent presence and point of shared contact between the Lab and its Director, local administrative and research units, Lab-affiliated grad students, research assistants, staff, and others.

This job calls for exemplary interpersonal and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned planner, able to focus on details as well as the larger picture. Essential skills include personnel-management, accounting, computation, project management, administration, and communications. As well, the ideal candidate will be familiar with UVic administrative systems and practices, from grant application procedures to human resource guidelines, or similar ones in other institutional contexts.

About the ETCL

At the ETCL, we conduct and communicate original research in the areas of data harvesting, textual-content analysis, and document encoding. We explore and facilitate the innovative adaptation of existing textual tools, develop new models and mechanisms for information management and dissemination, and provide select training opportunities through the Digital Humanities Summer Institute (DHSI) for graduate students, faculty, and administration.
