This post is part of the Meet the ETCL Team series, which introduces the wonderful people who work in the lab and who have worked with us in the past.
Lee joined the lab as a programmer consultant in October 2024. His primary responsibility is to assist with the maintenance and development of the HSSCommons website.
Lee is a co-op student at the University of Victoria, working towards his BSc in the Computer Science department. He currently works full-time as a programmer analyst, writing and testing software in the support of advanced research for the ARCsoft division of the Research Computing Services at UVic.
When he’s not wrangling code, you’ll find Lee getting lost—whether that’s in the woods, a book, or on a foreign adventure. He’s a builder too, though his “bricks and mortar” are more often bits, bytes, and the occasional sine waves. Before software, Lee was an electronic musician, releasing records and playing festivals around the world under the moniker Pigeon Hole.
Now Lee’s weekends are packed with new obsessions: web dev, game design, and whatever emerging tech catches his eye. He’s lucky to be surrounded by curious, driven people—friends, co-workers, and classmates alike—who spark his imagination. There is nothing better than watching people thrive in their element and having that inspiration rub off!
