The ETCL is thrilled to invite you to a conversation with Dr. Brian Thom about his work as principle investigator for the SSHRC and Google funded project Innovations in Ethnographic Mapping and Indigenous Cartographies and his work as founder of UVic’s Ethnographic Mapping Lab. Dr. Thom’s work raises important questions about the political and social impacts of digital cartography, especially as it pertains to communicating the knowledge and experiences of indigenous people.

Please join us on Feb. 17th at 4:00 p.m. at the University Club to chat about Dr. Thom’s work, the importance of digital mapping, and maybe even a bit about Google funding!
