Get your hands on history! You are invited to participate in UVic Libraries and the Electronic Textual Cultures Lab’s first Wikipedia edit-a-thon beginning at 10am on Friday January 23rd 2015 in room 209. We are pleased to announce that Honorary Resident Wikipedian Dr. Christian Vandendorpe will also give a talk at the edit-a-thon on the value of Wikipedia and fostering public knowledge at 12pm in room A0025.
New and experienced Wikipedians are invited to this one day event in order to revise and create entries in their own areas of expertise, or relating to material from Special Collections and University Archives. Become a Wikipedian and learn how to add, update, and edit entries in Wikipedia
Work closely with material in Special Collections and University Archives

Proceedings run from 10am-2.30pm in room 209 of the McPherson Library. Dr. Vandendorpe’s talk and a provided lunch is at 12pm in room A0025. There will be an optional tour of Special Collections and University Archives following. Full day participation is not required: come for an hour, half a day, or the whole time!
