This post is part of the Meet the ETCL Team series, which introduces the wonderful people who work in the lab and who have worked with us in the past.
Ansh started at the lab in the Fall of 2020 as an undergraduate research assistant. He is a fourth-year computer science student at UVic interested in web development and open source, accessible technologies.
At the lab, Ansh’s work includes web app maintenance, ensuring the websites are regularly updated and helping with technical planning to create software solutions for new features for the lab’s HSSCommons project.
Working at the ETCL gives Ansh practical experience in his field and helps him pick up new skills. For instance, he has gained a solid understanding of key concepts like Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture for web applications. Additionally, he diligently set up and implemented efficient Git processes, allowing them to safely push new changes to the application’s codebase without jeopardizing its stability. His commitment to learning and attention to detail enabled them to create a successful and well-maintained web app.
Outside of work and school, Ansh’s hobbies include listening to music, going to concerts, reading, and rock climbing. Lately, he has been keenly exploring the Hip Hop scene emerging in India. Ansh is also spending his time training to complete a climb on one of Victoria’s iconic boulders – Twilight Games.
Way to go, Ansh!
