This post is part of the Meet the ETCL Team series, which introduces the wonderful people who work in the lab and who have worked with us in the past.
Archie joined the lab as a research assistant in May 2023. His main responsibility is fixing bugs and developing new features for the HSSCommons website.
As a Computer Science student, Archie possesses a profound passion for web development. He has been building websites and web applications in multiple languages, but mostly Python and JavaScript, which are his two favorite languages. Archie aspires to launch his own SaaS business, and he is driven to maximize his learning opportunities while working at the lab. His goal is to absorb as much knowledge and expertise as possible, equipping himself with the necessary skills and insights to successfully bring his entrepreneurial vision to life.
Besides coding, Archie is “somewhat” addicted to soccer. He plays and trains 4-5 times every week. He is hooked to the thrill that the sport brings about, and the new connections he makes. He plans to play for Lakehill in the next Vancouver Island Soccer League season and is training hard for it.
When not working or playing soccer, Archie enjoys doing pretty much anything, including cooking, reading books, watching movies, playing instruments, or going on long bike trips. He is currently reading The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey. His favorite Netflix show is Suits, where Mike Ross is his favorite character.
